Bert Martinez is a Senior Manager, working out of the Sarasota office of Purvis, Gray and Company, LLP, and has over 40 years of accounting and auditing experience.

Bert’s experience includes providing auditing services to a wide variety of clients, including local governments, employee benefit plans, health care organizations, rural electric cooperatives, not-for-profit organizations, and for-profit businesses.

Bert earned his BSBA Accounting Degree from the Gonzaga University in 1974. He is licensed as a CPA with the State of Florida. He is also a member of the FICPA, AICPA, and FGFOA.

Bert has also spoken to numerous groups on various accounting and auditing topics related to state and local governments, not-for-profit organizations, employee benefit plans, and for-profit businesses, including teaching continuing professional education courses.

Bert serves as the Treasurer of the National Prader-Willi Syndrome Association, Inc. located in Sarasota, Florida, with over 35 affiliated chapters around the United States. He serves on the FGFOA School of Government Committee. During his 40-year accounting career, he has served on the Board of Directors of about five not-for-profit organizations and also volunteered while serving and not serving on their boards.
