Bert Martinez is a Senior Manager, working in Purvis Gray’s Sarasota office. Bert’s experience includes providing auditing services to a wide variety of clients, including local governments, employee benefit plans, healthcare organizations, rural electric cooperatives, not-for-profit organizations, and for-profit businesses.
After earning a BSBA in Accounting from the Gonzaga University, Bert began his career in 1974. He is licensed as a Certified Public Accounting in Florida. He is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants (FICPA), and the Florida Government Finance Officers Association (FGFOA).
Bert has taught continuing professional education courses and spoken to numerous groups on various accounting and auditing topics related to state and local governments, not-for-profit organizations, employee benefit plans, and for-profit businesses.
During his 40-year accounting career, Bert has volunteered and served on the Board of Directors for several not-for-profit organizations. He serves as the Treasurer of the National Prader-Willi Syndrome Association, Inc. located in Sarasota, with more 35 affiliated chapters around the United States. He also serves on the FGFOA School of Government Committee. He is also a former assistant Cub Scout pack leader and former youth basketball coach.
