Purvis Gray is seeking an experienced Audit Manager to join our Assurance Services team. This is an opportunity to lead audit engagements across diverse industries, mentor rising professionals, and play a direct role in the success of clients and the development of our firm.

What You'll Do
Manage and oversee all phases of audit engagements for clients in both the public and private sectors
Lead audit planning, risk assessment, team assignments, and engagement execution
Review workpapers, financial statements, and reports to ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance with U.S. GAAP and auditing standards
Serve as the primary point of contact for client engagements, delivering clear communication and actionable insights
Supervise and develop staff, providing performance feedback, coaching, and technical training
Assist with scheduling, budgeting, billing, and project management across multiple engagements
Participate in presentations to boards, audit committees, and executive teams
Maintain technical knowledge of current accounting and audit developments
Cultivate relationships internally and externally to support growth and business development
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting (required)
Active CPA license (required)
5+ years of public accounting audit experience, with demonstrated progression into leadership roles
Advanced knowledge of U.S. GAAP, GAAS, and internal control frameworks
Prior experience managing multiple engagements and leading audit teams
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to lead with confidence, empathy, and professionalism
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and audit software (Caseware, ProSystem fx, or similar)
Ability to travel to client locations as needed
Preferred Experience
Industry-specific audit experience in sectors such as government, nonprofit, utilities, construction, or education
Experience with Uniform Guidance (Single Audit) engagements
Familiarity with grant-funded or regulated entities and reporting requirements
Involvement in recruiting, onboarding, and training within a CPA firm setting
